Funnel Clouds Near Corvallis

David Smith wrote to me and sent pictures of funnel clouds near Corvallis on June 17 of this year. David wrote:

I work out at the OSU Vegetable Research Farm and on Thursday the 17th, about 11:30 am, I sighted the cloud formation in the attached photos. It was associated with a large, dark cloud mass and persisted for at least ten minutes, alternately stretching down and pulling back upwards. Finally, we (another colleague was also observing and even shot a video of it) observed rainfall from the cloud mass and the “funnel cloud” quickly dispersed. The phenomenon was probably somewhere towards Philomath or Bellfountain.
