Not sure how to contact you other than a comment here. But I am wondering what the record number of consecutive days with no measurable precipitation is for Albany, and how close we might be to reaching/exceeding that record. I don’t believe the couple days that we have had a bit of precipitation in the valley the last few weeks were recordable at the Hyslop station. I could be wrong. Accuweather’s forecast through the end of the month shows no rain. Thanks.

I just wrote him. I am a 2011 graduate of the Oregon State University Honors College. I am outraged by Dr. Drapela’s wrongful termination. I explicitly made the point to President Ray that it is unlawful to terminate an employee on the basis of personal belief. I am doing everything I can think of to circulate this story and contact administrators in order to reverse this decision. It has been a dark time for the OSU Chemistry department because Dr. Drapela is not teaching.

I think this is another example of OSU hypocrisy. The purpose of a university is to stimulate minds to ask questions and seek answers–NOT perpetuate PC status quo. Drapela’s sections always filled up first. University has forgotten its true clientele base in favor of business. Classes and sections are being cut, much going online–so much for the modern educational theory of addressing multiple learning styles. Not everyone learns well outside of a classroom setting.

Not too pleased with Lady Obama’s speech emphasizing living to please yourself, either. So much for education in order to give back to society. But of course, the modern PC elites can’t cope with the concept of”noblesse oblige”, because it isn’t self-absorbed. BTW–I learned global warming 30 years ago, and the real fear is the ice age that follows the warm up. Ocean currents get messed up due to too much fresh water ruining the saline thermocline. Messed up ocean currents = messed up climate = unrelenting ice age (better hope for a supervolcano to release CO2).
